In Some Places, a Piglet is Worth More than a Girl Child
We worked with Olga Murray’s Nepal Youth Opportunity Foundation to raise funds to liberate Nepalese girls from indentured servitude.
88-year-old Olga Murray from San Francisco works in Nepal and has more energy than anyone we know. She has almost single handedly stamped out girls being sold into bonded labor in Western Nepal by giving piglets to families to sell at the end of the year instead of their girl children. $100 will buy you a piglet through her foundation – a sad statement about what a girl child is worth. This inspiring woman is one of our heroes.
We’ve completed our donation goal but for more information on the Nepal Youth Opportunity Foundation or to donate directly please visit Nepal Youth Opportunity.
